Shadows of Time. {Poetry}

Shadows of time

bend me
into the now,
just past noon on a Wednesday.

Shadows of time
bend me
into a selfie that’s more real than all the other
selfies that I’ve taken.

Shadows of time
bend me
without showing my scars,
or the crow lines along my eyes.

Shadows of time
bend me
into the darker side of myself,
which isn’t really dark, but exists because of lightness
that I’m not willing to wear.

Shadows of time
bend me
into the now,
just past noon on a Wednesday.
